Kellogg Fires Phelps From Endorsement Deal

Last summer Michael Phelps won 8 gold medals at the 2008 Bejing Olympics to the adoration of billions. This past fall Michael Phelps smoked pot from a bong at a college party, while under contract with Kellogg and countless other companies in millions of dollars in endorsement deals.

“Michael’s most recent behavior is not consistent with the image of Kellogg. His contract expires at the end of February and we have made a decision not to extend his contract,” Kellogg spokeswoman Susanne Norwitz said in a statement yesterday.

Kudos to Kellogg for sticking to their values while all the other companies continue to stand by “their” man, who has also been suspended for 3 months by USA Swimming and is facing possible criminal prosecution.

This is just more evidence that Toucan Sam, Sugar Bear, and the trio of Snap, Crackle, and Pop are better role models for the youth of America than this pot smoking gold medalist.
