The big difference between Quisp and Cap’n Crunch is that Quisp has a softer texture, and therefore does not damage the roof of your mouth to the extent that the Cap’n does. The only reported difference between Quisp and Quake was in the shape of the cereal bit. Quisp is shaped like a saucer and Quake was shaped like a metal gear.

Both Quisp and Quake were not only released at the same time, but they were advertised together. In 1972 a contest was held between the two cereals that resulted in Quisp winning and remaining on the store shelves… while Quake was buried in the annals of history.

Due to low sales, Quisp was pulled off the market in the late 70′s. It made a brief comeback in the 80′s, and then evolved in the 90′s as the world’s first “Internet Cereal” that was available only online for ordering. The continuation of Quisp in such a limited distribution network proves that cereal marketing has an impact on the products that people purchase, even if it is not stocked in the actual store.

While the cereal is a good tasting cereal, the fact the box ripped so easily and the bag opened with such difficulty… this cereal has only received a 2 Bowls recommendation.
