- The Cereal Bowl, opened its first franchised location at 181 E. Main Street Newark, Delaware, this past Saturday, October 11. Newark is the first of several franchised locations scheduled to open over the next few months, which include locations in Florida, Washington D.C., New Jersey, and Alabama. The Newark cafe is located across from the University of Delaware and will be the first Cereal Bowl location to feature the P.B.Loco line of gourmet peanut butter sandwiches and spreads. Linda and Anthony Busacca are the franchisees.
“We really love cereal, so when we started researching franchises to open in our area and came across The Cereal Bowl concept, we knew it was perfect for us and would do great in our area” Linda says. “We know both students and families will love our wonderful creations and The Cereal Bowl will offer a great new and healthy alternative to the choices people have in Delaware”
The 1,300-square-foot café will be serving cold and hot cereals from morning to night, where customers will be able to make their own mix from dozens of cereal choices and over 40 toppings ranging from fresh fruits and nuts to candy and granola.
“We really wanted to take cereal to the next level” says Vice President Michael Glassman, “and this was the most delicious way we knew how!”
“I am delighted by the amount of interest and excitement people have shown,” says CEO Kenneth Rader. “Since opening the door to their first cafe in Miami, the company has received over 3,000 franchise requests.
