Pop-Tart vs. Pop-Tart: Brown Sugar Cinnamon regular vs. 20% fiber

May Day, May Day! We have a childhood favorite going DOWN! (What? That’s funny!)

Today I pit the classic Kellogg’s Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tart against its new and improved Brown Sugar Cinnamon Whole Wheat Pop-Tart with 20% Daily Value of Fiber Per Serving!!! The original was my favorite Pop-Tart as a kid but today I admittedly have a NEW favorite: Its healthy younger brother. Let’s face it, I’m an adult in my mid-thirties who lives like a kid. I can still eat the fun stuff, but I need to try to inject some healthy stuff in there too. So when my favorite Pop-Tart offered a whole wheat alternative that packs a fiber punch AND it tastes even better than the original I have to change my alliance.

  1. Interesting that the filling is different. I wonder if they put the chicory root into the filling and that’s what made the difference.

  2. I’m picky when it comes to Pop Tarts. Frosted Cherry is the only flavor I like. I’ve tried other ones and they just don’t taste good to me.

    Not for a single second to I believe that one of these products is healthier than the other. However, I tend to prefer the, for the lack of a better term, “bulkier” taste of products that are supposed to seem healthy, so I would probably agree with your verdict.
