Special K Strawberry Fruit Crisps

We’re going for short and (pun TOTALLY intended) sweet in this Marbits edition.

Kellogg’s Special K Strawberry Fruit Crisps taste just like strawberry Pop-Tarts and manage to be less healthy than one. Impressive… in a “shame on you for making us think this product is healthy for us by slapping Special K‘s name on it!” way.

Think I’m kidding? Take a look, and note that two Crisps (25 grams) are about half the size by weight of one Pop-Tart (52 grams), so double the Crisp values and you see they’re pretty much the same thing:

Fruit Crisps Pop-Tarts

Sure, the Special K Fruit Crisps are only 100 calories per serving, but at the complete sacrifice of what could be a very healthy product.

Like the product reviewed, this was short and sweet. Unlike the fruit crisps, though, not filled with empty calories. ‘Though I guess that those still have less than a poptard, which makes the latter obsolete.

By the way, you look really good today.

  2. How can they say 0 trans fat when they contain partially hydrogenated oil? Curious.

I think in the future you should try some of the Kashi products, like the baked apple bar (or strawberry). Very good, all ingredients you can actually pronounce and lots of whole grain!

  3. My problem with things like that is that I’m never satisfied after one. Then I eat the whole box.

If anything, now I know to stick with Pop Tarts!
