Hey, kids! It’s Cereal Wednesday!

Today let’s talk about Cap’n Crunch Crunch Berries by Quaker. This corn and oat based cereal is a spinoff of the original Cap’n Crunch cereal, which includes strawberry sweetened shapes referred to as Crunch Berries. Usually the Crunch Berries are roundly shaped and come in vibrant colors (although originally Crunch Berries were only in a vibrant pink variety). This box being reviewed today, which we actually purchased a few months ago, happened to have limited time only sea animal shapes in promotion of a Sea World vacation giveaway (oops).

Back to the cereal: It tastes pretty phenomenal if you enjoy a super nugget of corn goodness. It still cuts the roof of your mouth just like regular Cap’n Crunch until it gets a chance to sog out a bit then it’s a perfect soggy exterior with a crunchy center.

And now, the nutrition information. Quaker says it best, so let’s have them present the nutrition facts:

I would imagine that the “Berry” thing now gets top billing in order to appear healthier. Which it certainly isn’t. At all. But that’s not what cereal is all about anyway!

I was informed, I was entertained, I enjoy.

  2. Hey – I have that shirt too! And mine looks exactly the same!

And what is up with cutting up your mouth? I haven’t had CC in a loooong time, but I still remember the cereal injuries.

  3. So if they started as just Cap’n Crunch, then graduated to Cap’n Crunch with Crunch Berries and now they’re JUST Crunch Berries I look forward to eating a bowl of All Crunch within the next decade.

    Great video, though!

  5. I’ve always been a fan of Cap’n Crunch. Crunch Berries was one that I liked, but Peanut Butter Crunch has always had a special place in my belly since I was a kid.

  6. The berry version of Captian Crunch is amazing. So much better than the regular version of the cereal.
