I purchased General Mills "Recess Puff" cereal before going on vacation. I ate some of the cereal while on vacation. After eating the cereal I became vey ill with throwing up, severe abdominal cramps and just sick sick. I was sick for 2 days, I thought maybe the milk was bad. I got better and then had the cereal again, about an hour after eating the cereal I became nauseous and the whole episode of sickness was repeated after being well. I will NEVER EVER EAT THAT CEREAL AGAIN!!!!! It strange I got sick after eating this cereal, got better, ate the cereal again and was severely ill soon after eating this cereal. Thank God my kids wouldnt eat it. I think I am going to stick to my other brand of cereals that I have always used and trusted...

Reese's Puffs should be looked in to immediately. Having eaten the cereal, I developed severe diarreha and abdominal pain & discomfort, along with fever, chills and flu like symptoms. Thinking perhaps I had simply contracted a "bug" while out, I dismissed it as "seasonal" illness. After two or three days of feeling poorly and resting, I felt better. Unfortunately I again had the cereal, the entire episode was repeated. At that point I wondered about the cereal and looked it up on line, only to find that others had experienced the same effects from the cereal.
I purchased this cereal for an upcoming visit of my grand children. Thank GOD the visit was cancelled and I did not give it to the children! Infact it was only that they were not coming to visit that I decided to eat the cereal myself.
My question is: WHY is this cereal still on the store shelves? This is terrible! I have had an awful time! I absolutely WILL NOT have this cereal in my home again. After many years of purchasing General Mills products, I will not trust them again! PLEASE do not eat Reese's Puffs and do not give them to children!

Our son ate Reeses Puffs this morning (9 Feb) for breakfast for the first time. We just bought it last night (8 Feb). He began vomitting aroung 3pm (8 hours later). He continued with nausea, vomitting and diarrhea through 11pm (16 hours). He is seeing his pediatrician in the morning, staying out of school.

Just becuase REESES PUFFS aren't on the list YET, doesn't mean they won't be; we may not just know about it yet...beware.

I wonder the same thing. My son ate that cereal the past 3 days for breakfast and for an evening snack, and on the 3rd, he woke up in the middle of the night with vomiting and diarrhea nonstop. We didn't even get back to sleep until after 7. He might as well have slept in the bathroom. I had to get him anti-nausea and anti-dirrhea meds at Rite Aid. It took 4 days to get better, but he said he still wasn't feeling well on the 5th. I'm not sure if it was salmonella, but he won't be eating that cereal again until this whole peanut butter issue is done.

@ Steph, I just checked the list again at http://www.fda.gov and the only two items on the list from General Mills are those already listed in this post. In fact, there are no actual cereals on the recall list at all.

If you consumed some of Reese's Puffs and you are feeling ill, then you should definitely go to the hospital for an official medical opinion. If it is in fact Salmonella, the doctors will report it to the CDC and this may lead the FDA to order a recall of the cereal.

If it is not Salmonella, well then you only have yourself to blame since you obviously did not heed our review of Reese's Puffs from 2007... when it got ZERO BOWLS.
