Keebler Cookie Crunch

Cereal Wednesday: Keebler Cookie Crunch from Cereal Wednesday on Vimeo.

Kellogg’s Keebler Cookie Crunch is a new cereal that attempts to capture the flavor of both the Keebler’s Fudge Shoppe Fudge Stripe and Chips Deluxe cookies.

Keebler Cookie Crunch is a corn based kid’s cereal, plain and simple. Per 1 cup serving it contains 110 calories, 1 gram of fat, 2 grams of protein, and no cholesterol. Kellogg’s has boosted the nutrition of this cookie-based cereal by including 25% of Vitamin C, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and Folic Acid. Total carbs per 1 cup is 26 grams, with 12 grams being from sugar.

Cookie Crunch has a rich cocoa flavor very similar to Cocoa Krispies, but there is nothing unique about this flavor. The texture itself is a bit disturbing, as the Fudge Stripe cookie pieces instantly sog out while the Chips Deluxe pieces stay hard and crunchy. Despite all the cocoa flavor, the cereal does nothing more than make the cereal milk sweet, not chocolatey.

Bottom line: If you enjoy the Fudge Stripe and Chips Deluxe cookies then stick to eating those with a glass of milk. This cereal won’t satisfy your cookie craving.

Taste: Cocoa, cocoa, cocoa, but leaves the milk just tasting sugary
Box opening: Not difficult, but it wasn’t clean
Bag rippage: No ripping
Bag slippage: A lotta slipping
Sog factor: High – quick to sog out, turns to a bowl of glue, with a little crunch from the Chips Deluxe bits
Allergy alert: Contains wheat ingredients

I was so excited when I saw the post title! It sounded like it was going to be awesome, and I’m so sad that it wasn’t.

I felt like such an insider knowing that it was on Viddler like 4 hours before it was posted on here.

I’ve got to rewatch it though, Poppy needs to up the volume or have the camera closer or get a external mic.

I had really high hopes for this cereal myself. Cookies and milk are just such a natural fit together… but yet the cereal companies just can’t seem to get them right.

I would also like to add that it was very nice for the original I Can Haz Cheezburger cat to make an appearance. It’s great having special guests!

@Bear Silber- Hopefully we’ll have the audio problems resolved in the next new one… this one was actually in the can for about a month. New studio… new audio… so we’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned!

I loved that Georgie made a guest appearance on this video. I’m bummed that the cereal sucked. I had such high hopes considering it’s made by the Keebler elves. Total bummer.

Avi, trust me, my mouth was very sad about it too.

Bear Silber, what Dawg said. :)

Dawg, yes, apologies to Georgie for not being mentioned outside of the video at all. She’s like bonus footage!

Lisa, cookies seem to always be much better than their wannabe cereal, but somehow Cookie Crisp does a way better job than Cookie Crunch.
