Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp

Who doesn’t like peanut butter?! … Well, ok, lots of people don’t like peanut butter. And many other people are actually allergic to it, but if you don’t fall into either of those categories then I have the cereal for you!

Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp is a whole grain corn cereal made by General Mills and is part of the Millsberry line of kid cereals. It was added to the Cookie Crisp collection in 2005. Chip the Wolf, originally known as Howler, is the cereal’s mascot. Judging by the smacking of his lips he enjoys a little bit of peanut butter in his diet, as any canine would.

The cereal packs a serious peanut butter punch. It is admittedly super sweet, but you’re reading the words of a woman who sprinkles extra sugar onto her peanut butter before eating it, so this is exactly the way I like it. The bite-size peanut butter cookies taste exactly like a homemade peanut butter cookie, even better than some I’ve had! And the best part is that the cereal stays crunchy in milk which is much more important for a cereal to do than its cookie counterpart.

Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp contains 12 vitamins and minerals, including 25% of the daily recommended allowance of Iron, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, and Zinc.

If you’re looking for a low sugar cereal for your kids this might not be the best option for you, but if you want something with vitamins and minerals that tastes delicious enough for your kids to actually eat then I say go for it!

No toy inside, but a fun Cookie Cruiser cut-out activity on the back keeps the family occupied.

Slogan: “The Great Taste of Peanut Butter Cookies & Milk!”
Taste: Seriously peanut buttery
Box opening: Easy
Bag rippage: No ripping
Bag slippage: Minimal slipping
Allergy alert: Contains peanut and wheat ingredients

*snort* ok more than *snort* hahahahaha

      Ahem.

I’m not a peanut butter lover, but my husband firmly believes anything is better with peanut butter. I wonder if I can find that stuff around here.

      Ripples!!! Rawr!!!

I think there was no bag slippage because there was very little pourage.

I got kicked out of Cub Scouts for eating a Brownie.

I don’t think that “darn” or even “damn” are considered curse words. You can see my video comment for what I do consider curse words.

      Nice shirt by the way.

Great review AGAIN!!! You are such a better cereal reviewer than I.

[...] Go watch me eat peanut butter instead of itaking my practice exam. The wireless network went down during the time that I would have been taking the test, which would have resulted in an automatic FAIL and waste of that test, so than goodness for Dawg being too busy to do CW this week! I love peanut butter - I’ll definitely have to try this. And I love the shirt! :)

I fall into the category of people who thinks peanut butter belongs only on bread … and bananas … and maybe one or two other things — but not in cereal, cookies, ice cream etc.

Having said that — the review is so good I’m tempted to give this a try.

Britt, I wear the shirts people give me. (*giggle) And that’s part of why I thought it was new (other than mixing it up with another box in my cupboard that says “NEW!” on it), we don’t have it here. Apparently you need to go to a Tennessee Big Lots to get it.

Dawg, I had that cereal box at quite an angle so if there was going to be slippage it would have happened. And I am NOT a better cereal reviewer than you as a fact and as subjectively polled by YOUR fans. I don’t have fans, except maybe Kash. But even he is a fan of us both, not just me.

      Poppy, nice tyo-laden pingback, lady.

Avi, YOU ARE ACTUALLY GOING TO TRY A CEREAL I REVIEWED? Are pigs flying? Or, it’s the shirt… has to be. I look nice and fluffy in it!

Delmer, you strike me like the kinda guy who likes to live a little. Try the cereal. You hate it, what’d you lose? (If you buy it in TN it’s only $1.80 / 12.7 oz!)

We don’t have cookie crisp here in Canada, but I love peanut butter and that cereal looks so good!

If Poppy says it is the best cereal on the planet, then it must be so! I like peanut butter so I WILL try it!

Thanks for teaching me about leguuuuuumes. You have given my brain a new wrinkle.

I must buy some! Fortunately I live 20 minute from this Tennessee Big Lots. :)

Lazylikewallys, perhaps a visit to the states is in order? :)

Wah, it never got soggy! I have footage of me continuing to eat the cereal… still crrrrrunchy.

MM, “legumes” is apparently a very important lesson for cereal eaters to learn. I love legumes.

Mom, Dawg and I will be there as soon as possible to stock up on $2 cereal! <3 (And, by “as soon as possible” I of course mean “within the next year-ish,” hehehe.)

My philosophy on peanut butter is the exact opposite of Delmer’s. I don’t like peanut butter by itself, on bread, bananas, etc. I only like it in ice cream, cereal, cookies, and chocolate.

Is Peanut Butter Cookie Crisp more peanut buttery than Peanut Butter Captain Crunch? Thought I’d ask in case I ever find myself near a TN Big Lots for some reason. :P

Karl, awww, sweetie. Is there a cereal you *can* eat that we can review for you?

Dave2, really for reals yo try it and tell me what you think. And, btw, when you show up for your special guest spot on CW you’re getting the celebrity treatment so LET US KNOW WHEN YOU’RE COMING TO THE CITY!!!!! :)

Girl, Dislocated, ohhhh yay, a Girl after my own heart. (Although, sometimes I do sneak a spoonful of pb, but with more sugar on it.) I’ve never had Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch! I see a comparison review in my future!

    17. GravatarComment by Girl, Dislocated on June 5, 2008 12:04 am

      Yeah, do a comparison!!

If there was peanut butter in the house, right now I’d be eating Chocolate Peanut Butter Soup—peanut butter, fudge, and a little sugar all mixed together. I need to try peanut butter and sugar without the fudge sometime though…

Your wish is my command. Except give a little while for the comparison video, or else we’ve become Peanut Butter Cereal Wednesday, since Dawg did Envirokidz a few weeks ago. ;)

And peanut butter with sugar, warmed in the microwave, with or without Quaker oats is deeeeeelicious.

    19. GravatarComment by Girl, Dislocated on June 5, 2008 12:26 am

How could I forget Envirokids–the total antithesis to PB Cookie Crips and PB Crunch! I’ll be patient :)

And the microwave idea is making me drool!!!
