Chocolate Chex Cereal

This is the cereal that will change the way you think about breakfast…

While chocolate has been considered a divine treat through the ages, never has it been considered a viable breakfast option… until now. Chocolate Chex Cereal surpasses all expectations with its baked on cocoa powder. The burst of flavor is reminiscent of the flavoring of a hot chocolate on a cold day.

Besides the nostalgia of a cold winter day, Chocolate Chex Cereal provides a sweetened cereal with only 8 grams of sugar. Compared to Froot Loops 15 grams of sugar and Crunchberries 12 grams of sugar, Chocolate Chex is the clear cut winner in the battle to keep the grams down. This is proof that sweetened cereals CAN use less sugar, and be just as enticing.

The only thing stopping Chocolate Chex from conquering the breakfast tables of the chocolate lovers of America is its limited availability. General Mills has a winner on their hands, lets hope they realize it and distribute it along wider channels.

Battle Creek, Michigan has me on their Most Wanted list because while I may be a mild mannered blogger by day... I'm the Cereal Avenger striking fear into the hearts of cheap ass cereal executives who have taken out the toys and joy at night!!!

  1. You know the bags of Chex party mix? They came out with one that is “Turtle” flavored. It contains chocolate Chex, pretzels, peanuts, and tiny m&m’s. I fell in love with the chocolate Chex then. You are right- its a great taste. I may have to try it for breakfast now that I know the sugar content!

  2. I love chocolate Chex and have three boxes of it in my pantry right now. All for me!

  3. Miss Ann Thrope says:

You had to bring up the inside-out box, didn’t you? I nearly got arrested for a federal crime and you have to tell the world. Geez.

I was waiting for you to try it before I bought some for myself. I’ll try it now. I want a party in my mouth.

If you need more, let me know. I’ll be happy to keep your supply up.

  4. I’ll bet if they added more chocolate to whole grained foods, more people would be getting the DRI. I know I sure would!

  5. Cool. Glad you finally got to review it. It’s a good cereal.

  6. I was LOL over the “serious bag slippage”! I can’t wait to try Chocolate Chex. I think the corn would help to keep the cereal from getting all soggy.

  7. Metalmom– I haven’t seen that one around here… they need to do better work when it comes to their New York distribution.

Avi– Only three boxes??? I wouldn’t feel comfortable unless I had three cases… you know… in case the end of the world happened or something and I was the only person left. Me and Will Smith.

Miss Ann– You should DEFINITELY try it. It’s got that cocoa smell alone that will make your mouth water… and then… it’s party time.

Sxymom– I bet if they added chocolate to broccoli… I’d eat more broccoli. So yeah… I agree.

OzThomsas– Yes, it is a very good cereal. A real nice surprise considering the LIFE with chocolate debacle.

Geeky– Well the whole bag slipped out like it was greased or something! As a mom… you should be sympathetic to the plight of mothers who need eight arms and end up with only two… one of which has to pour the cereal. One armed cereal pouring is tricky enough… we don’t need the corporate mongers making it anymore difficult than it already is.

  8. You are absolutely right about “bag slippage” and moms having to pour cereal one-handed! It is a very important issue. I hope they do something to resolve it.

  9. I am glad Miss Anne was able to get you the cereal. If you ever want any “new” cereals before they hit NYC, let me know. I can get it for you. We usually get lots of sample boxes from our buyers.

  10. Geeky– Its true… mom’s need all the help they can get. I don’t know why they don’t just dab three small spots of glue on the bottom of the box… but that would be too simple.

Abbagirl– Yes, she did a super job sniffing it out… and quickly! By all means, if you see anything interesting, let me know… I’m all for getting the exclusives. Thanks!

  11. Miss Ann Thrope says:

I bought it. I tried it. I like it but I think it has a bit of a funky after taste.

  12. Really??? I didn’t sense the aftertaste was funky… it was kinda like the aftertaste of a Swiss Miss hot cocoa… you know… when you drain the bottom of the cup out and get the powdery dark residue.

Maybe its because your not smoking anymore… and you can actually taste it.

  13. Miss Ann Thrope says:

I think you’re exactly right. I had some smoked deli ham last night and totally grossed out. I’ve eaten it before and liked it.

Also, I can smell my breath. How do you feel about breath mint Monday? Seriously.

  14. See that! Your meds kick ass! They even make Smoked Ham revolting!!!

    Mmmmm… “Breath Mint Monday”… there’s an idea there somewhere… I know it.

  15. Good to go, Oh Great one, your review of this Cerial makes me want to EAT this form of Chex. It seems that for this Cerial, instead of just 2 spoons this one gets 7 spoons and five bowls. I was really not happy with you or your site after the bad review you gave to Grape Nuts, but you have won me back. I am a Returning Cerial Wensday fan. I even clicked on a few of your insite ads also. Its good to be back on your Site again. Can I buy and ship you a few boxes of the top shelf Cerials ?
