Cereal Bars Continue Evolution
There have been two points of news in recent weeks regarding the two premiere cereal bars, Arizona’s Cereality and Florida’s The Cereal Bowl.
First, Cereality has been acquired by newly merged Kahala-Cold Stone. Kahala is the parent company of the Blimpie sandwhich chain, and Cold Stone specializes in making ice cream. Cereality had been in discussion with Cold Stone before the merger with Kahala. The combined resources of the companies are expected to strengthen the Cereality brand.
The Cereal Bowl has announced that it is now going nationwide from its Miami, Florida base. They are currently developing 16 stores and expect 3 of them to be opened across the nation by the end of this year. This development is on the heels of two years of careful development and under the weight of thousands of franchise inquiries. Included in the new plan is a Kiosk option for use in airports, colleges, and malls.

Never in a million years would I have thought there’d be cereal bars. That’s some creative thinking!
I like cereal bars, but I hate the kind that are so full of chocolate, they might as well be candy bars! They ARE convenient, though, especially during the school year when my daughter gets up too late to eat a normal breakfast.
I like the kiosk idea, too.
Great site.
