Cereal Wednesday Episode II: Froot Loops

Froot Loops is a very sweet and fruity cereal. The milk contamination level is much higher with Froot Loops as the sugar content is so high that the excess is instantly absorbed by the milk.
One of my major gripes about the cereals of today is in their apparent lack of true toys and giveaways. Froot Loops is a prime example of this, offering movie passes to a movie that was 1) out of the theaters when this cereal was reviewed and 2) requiring the additional purchase of cereals for the redemption. When I was a child, one of the biggest draws to cereal was the inclusion of cheap toy or give away. The apparent lack of that among cereal companies today is both a sign of the increasing corporate mentality and the diminishing of the value to these boxes of general goodness.
The Froot Loops mascot Toucan Sam has been with the cereal since it originally was released in 1963. Toucan Sam is one of the strongest and most identifiable mascots in the cereal industry. The strength of the blue Toucan with the striped beak can be attributed to both his simplicity and his length of exposure through numerous advertising campaigns over the decades. The Froot Loops brand is also easily identifiable from its bright red box.

Fruit Loops are good but sometimes the texture of the Os hurt my soft palet when i stuff too much into my mouth at one time.
This was my favorite as a kid. But I agree that it does hurt your palete like Cap’n Crunch.
